I was a loyal Sabercat fan, for 7 years. They were an elite team, the pride of the AFL. With 2 leagues to go to, AF1, and AIFA, they do absolutely NOTHING !..They just fade off into the sunset. Why , for the life of me, would a great franchise like that, choose not to continue?????? Makes no sense at all.

Maybe looking at it from a business perspective they figured that going to a lower league would diminish talent thus lowering attendance which in turn would affect their bottomline (profits). AIFA only pays $200 per game. No way alot of those AFL guys are gonna play for that.

OK, i can agree with you on that, AF1 pay and AFL pay, are certainly 2 different things. Im kinda curious though, there are 6 former AFL teams, that did join AF1,seems theyre ok with the player pay scale. I think its a matter of who really wants to play, and whos main concern is the almighty buck !!!!

A lot of guys in AF1 are there hoping to get a shot at the BIG TIME, so they are willing to take a lower pay, but I can't imagine guys doing it for too many years if it doesn't provide them a ride up.
