The Mariners continue to cut through the win column, notching another mark in the win column, this time against the number 2 team in the conference. The Mariners corralled the Harrisburg Ponies, er... Stampede to the tune of 50-17. It was never a close game. People call the Mariners an over-rated team? Take a look at Harrisburg. THAT... is an over-rated team.
But before anyone says it, I will go ahead and get the excuses out of the way.
1. The officials cost Harrisburg that game 2. Archie Smith was out, that is the only way Baltimore won! 3. Baltimore is a classless organization who ran up the score again. 4. Baltimore is made up of all former Reading players. They can't even win a game by finding their own players. 5. Baltimore has had an easy schedule and have not played anyone yet. I am not sold on the fact that Baltimore is that good. They have not even played Erie yet.
The bottom line is that the Baltimore Mariners arethat good. As of right now, they are the best team in the league.

I posted those "excuses" because I was making it easy for the naysayers. Basically, i was saying that those are the excuses we are most likely to hear. The last line I said is "The Mariners ARE that dominant." Hell, they are the best team in the AIFA in just about every category. I guess my sarcasm went undetected in that original post.

It happens to the best of us. I can not wait for the Mariners to face off against Erie. They are the only team left to play. I want to see a new opponent.

express4life,
Maybe you should change your name to,"expressfanonlywhentheyaregood"!!! Maybe if you didn't blame everyone else but your team's mgmt, you wouldn't be one step out the door off of this forum???
Yes, I was here when the team wasn't that good. Matter of fact, they were bad, but they showed up every week giving it their all and so did the fans! We've backed out team from the beginning and now that their good, now I have to listen to you whine like a baby!
You guys didn't have a problem coming to our house and rubbing it in when you beat us. I remember standing on the stage at the arena listening to you guys singing "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, good bye" after our running back fumbled the ball at the end zone at the last game of the season of our first year as the Mariners. How bout in our second year when we came in and beat you guys and had your fans were throwing things at us??? Or better yet, how bout at the playoff game when you guys kicked our butts and your fans were screaming out,"Baltimore sucks!"??? Its a vicious cycle, but like everything else, what comes around, goes around baby............just some fans can take it, unlike you Mr. Fair Weather Express Fan!!!
Suck it up and take your beatings like a man like we did for the past couple of years!!!!!
GO MARINERS!!!

djh0722,
Great post brother!!! I think you covered every excuse that anyone could give why we are where we are! Last time I checked, I think all the teams pay their player with cash, correct??? So, I guess Reading had the same chance to sign these players again, just chose not to, huh??? Is that our fault??? Guess its easy to be a hater when your not used to having a team struggle when they first come on to the scene and watch them grow how we as Mariner fans have??? Its all good!
GO MARINERS!!!

Win it for Morris? That is cute. The Mariners have not been owned by John Morris since 2008, when the team finished with an embarrassing record of 4-10. You keep talking out of your backside express4life, and what comes out of it just plain stinks. Baltimore is currently the most dominant team in the conference. Lets take a look at points scored to points allowed ratio for the entire conference: Baltimore: 484 points scored to 206 points allowed. That is just plain sick! Reading: 351 points scored to 360 points allowed. Richmond: 313 points scored to 328 points allowed. Harrisburg: 312 points scored to 252 points allowed. Erie: 283 points scored to 288 points allowed. Fayetteville: 224 points scored to 350 points allowed. New Jersey: 153 points scored to 336 points allowed. ( points were calculated using data provided by www.thestatguys.com. If any error were made, blame them. ) Baltimore has scored 133 points more than Erie (second place in scoring)so far. Baltimore boasts a 278 point difference between points scored and points allowed. They are 8-0 heading into the bye week. They have played the same opponents as every other team in this conference with the exception of Erie. I do not want to hear the argument that Baltimore is stacked with former Express players. Sure, there are a few former Express players on the Mariners. former Express staff. The point is, every team needs to prepare to play and execute. Baltimore is simply an impressive force to be reckoned with. Will they go perfect on the season? I do not know. I hope so, but there are a few games left on the schedule that look like they could be trap games, and that worries me. But the coachiing staff has the players well grounded. One game at a time is how they take it. Only one time I can think of where the team looked past an opponent was the last time Baltimore faced off against NJ. The first half was a bit dicey. The Mariners adjusted accordingly and dominated the second half. But that was a true "oh crap" moment. Statistically and record wise, Baltimore is the best team in the conference. I did not calculate the west due to the imbalance as a result of Ogden cancelling a few games due to loss of facility. And honestly, I am not that worried about the west conference just yet. We all know it is really a footrace between San Jose and Wyoming at this point. And last but not least express4life. You were not threatened with being banned because you are an obnoxious a-hole. It is because you were making unfounded and dispairaging remarks about the leage ownership.
