This will be a huge AIFA matchup as the Baltimore Mariners 3-2 host the defending AIFA Champions Florence Phantoms 5-1. The Mariners finally come home after a month long Road trip which they were 1-2 with a bye week. They had a hard fought come from behing victory against the Reading Express this past saturday in Reading sweeping the series from them this year after Reading did the same to the Mariners last year. Game time is 7:30pm at the 1st Mariner Arena. Special guests will be the 2009 NISL Champions Baltimore Blast who have won 5 titles out of the last 7 years. Should be a great time see you there.

What is the deal with the lack of a name? I hope they name it soon. What arena will they play at? That seems to be a popular naming convention. Baltimore Mariners=1st Mariner Arena, DC Armor=DC Armory, Richmond Whatevers=Richmond ???

They will play in the Richmond Coliseum.

So how about the Richmond Colossus, or the Richmond Romans.

There were two teams here previously. One AF2 team called the Richmond Speed. But AF2 owns that name and Carolina has the Speed for AIFA. The other was an AIFL team called the Richmond Bandits. Not sure who owns that name, the owner or the AIFL. If the AIFL still owns the name then maybe it flows to the AIFA which would be great since I still have a Bandits jersey, a CZ Championship ring (1st year champions), and fan club t-shirts.

But now I am getting off topic. Afterall this is a thread for the Florence v Baltimore game.
